I am a Colorado native who grew up in, and graduated from, Adams Twelve schools. My desire to teach began when I was a second grader. I watched everything my teacher did and I wanted to be just like her. I even had my own "school" in my basement complete with a slate chalkboard and gradebook. After high school, I attended the University of Northern Colorado where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado-Boulder and also an Administrative Certificate from the University of Denver.
I am starting my 22nd year in education and have been very fortunate to spend all of my years teaching in third grade. I taught one year at Cherry Drive Elementary, seventeen years at Malley Drive Elementary, and am so excited to start my fourth year at Silver Creek. Teaching third grade students is a true passion of mine!
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets. I also like to find projects that allow me to be creative and crafty. Giving back to the community is very important to me, so I spend many hours each month volunteering with my local law enforcement agency.
My goal for the year is to create meaningful opportunities for your child to grow academically and emotionally. By working together, we can make this year a great one!
