I value and believe in all children; that is why I became an educator. I began my career as a para-educator in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where I spent ten years supporting the special education department in the South Routt School District. While doing this, I pursued my B.A. of Liberal Arts and teaching degree from Regis University. After graduating, I received a teaching position in this same district, teaching middle school math and literacy, until moving to Denver.
Upon moving, I began teaching in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. I taught 5th grade at Prairie Hills Elementary before being chosen to teach here at Silver Creek Elementary its opening year. I feel privileged to be here among the intelligent, committed, caring staff. Throughout my years here at SCE, I have furthered my education with classes like, The Colorado Writing Project, 21stCentury Learning, ELL, The CDE READ Act Class and Colorado Financial Literacy so I can keep apprised and use the latest and greatest of teaching tools. I am excited to begin a new school year, (even if it is entirely different than years past) learn about my new students, and HAVE FUN! I am an extremely dedicated professional, with a loving touch. I want to inspire each child to be a life long learner!
