Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a teacher so that I could make a difference in a child's life. Teaching has been and will always be my passion. This is my twenty-eighth year of teaching and my sixteenth year as GT Coordinator for Silver Creek. While working with your child, my goal is to make the curriculum come alive and foster a love of learning. I am passionate about meeting the needs of my students and I continually strive to individualize my instruction for each child. I truly believe that every child has a right to learn something new each and every day.
I have a Masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix and a B.A. in Behavioral Science and Elementary Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I began working with children as a BASE Coordinator in 1990 in Adams 12. After graduating, I moved to Texas and began my teaching career in Conroe, TX just north of Houston. After 5 years of teaching 1st through 4th grades (including some multi-age), I moved back to Colorado where I grew up and taught at Cotton Creek Elementary prior to opening Silver Creek Elementary.
When I have a moment of down time, you can always find me spending time with my husband and 17-year-old son at many baseball games, shopping, enjoying the Florida beach, curled up with a good book or just spending quality time with close friends.
