My name is Joel Bunn and I am a proud Colorado native. I starting my seventh year at Silver Creek Elementary and I am one of the luckiest PE teachers in the district to work at this truly amazing school. It is great honor and privilege to work at such a highly achieving school and it would not be possible without the hardworking, dedicated staff making it all happen.
My love for sports and exercise came at an early age and I have continued my passion into education. I graduated from The Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2010 with my Bachelors degree in Human Performance and Sport, with a minor in K-12 Education. I have taken my many years of experience in coaching and playing sports and have applied my knowledge to the classroom. I am dedicated to molding and shaping your students into well-rounded citizens that will be health conscious for life. I will teach them what it means to be a successful mover and carry on those skills far into adulthood. Research has shown that a comprehensive, research-based elementary physical education program can promote healthy habits in children that generate higher test scores and focus the student better in the classroom. Along with educating your child on the importance of physical activity and health, I also provide the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders with an early morning sports program.
As I mentioned above I am a Colorado native and presently reside in Brighton. I like to stay busy and when I have free time, you can most likely find me outside. Living in Colorado has given me the opportunity to become an avid outdoorsman. I love to camp, hike, fish and hunt, all while enjoying the magnificent Rocky Mountains. I am not too bad on a snowboard, try to play golf and run. I also found out recently that I have love for disc golf and try to play anytime I have chance to.
I am excited to have the opportunity to be at Silver Creek and look forward to educating your child to become a knowledgeable mover for life!Alt+MAlt+N
