I began substitute teaching in Adams 12 in 1991. Then in 1992, I started teaching second grade and later moved to kindergarten. I have taught both half day kindergarten and extended day kindergarten. I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of the core team that opened Silver Creek Elementary in 2006.
I earned a BA in psychology with a certification in elementary education from CU-Boulder. A few years later, I returned to complete a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 28 years, 2 kids and 2 ShihTzus. We love to relax around our backyard fire pit. I have spent many years on the sidelines of the football field and in the basketball bleachers cheering on my kids. Now my daughter is attending Metro State and will graduate this December. My son is attending Front Range. As for my puppies they are now 13, I like to walk them. However, they prefer to walk a bit and then be carried.
