When is GT testing in my school?

Universal Screening: In Adams 12 Five Star Schools, 2nd and 6th graders who are not already identified GT participate in the Universal Screening process for potential gifted and talented identification. Find more detailed information regarding Universal Screening in the Five Star District.

Important dates for the Universal Screening process at our school:  

The NNAT screening will be given to all 2nd graders on October 4, 2021. If your child's data shows that he/she has a potential for needing qualitatively different instruction, your child's teacher will reach out to you to gather more information. This year, 2nd graders will only be screened for potential gifted and talented. 

Parent/Staff/Student GT Recommendation: All students can participate in the GT identification process by submitting a complete body of evidence. Find more detailed information regarding the GT recommendation process in the Five Star District.

If you are interested in having your child be considered for the GT identification process you need to contact your GT Coordinator for school specific information.

Important dates for the GT Recommendation process at our school:

Silver Creek's GT Testing will occur December 9th and 10th. 

 (*****Please note: ALL testing MUST be finished prior to leaving for Christmas Break. I cannot accomodate individual testing that occurs due to vacations, etc. )

Parent/Staff/Student GT Recommendation: If you are interested in having your child be considered for the GT identification process you need to complete the form using the link by November 5th.

  • Students who participated in the universal screener are not required to do this. 
  • Link to request that your child be considered for the GT identification process:  This nomination link is now open. Please fill it out before October 27th. The nomination link will close on 10/27/21.  

  • Once you have completed the link, it will take approximately 1 week after the due date for you to receive notice from AAGS requesting permission. You can find more detailed information regarding the GT recommendation process in the Five Star District at the AAGS website.
