When is GT testing in my school?

Universal Screening: In Adams 12 Five Star Schools, 2nd and 6th graders who are not already identified GT participate in the Universal Screening process for potential gifted and talented identification. Find more detailed information regarding Universal Screening in the Five Star District.

Important dates for the Universal Screening process at our school:

The NNAT screening will be given to all 2nd graders on October 7, 2020. If your child's data shows that he/she has a potential for needing qualitatively different instruction, your child's teacher will reach out to you to gather more information. This year, 2nd graders will only be screened for potential gifted and talented. If they score high enough, they will be placed on a Talent Pool list to be tested next year. This will enable us to prevent contact with other cohorts across the school.

Parent/Staff/Student GT Recommendation: All students can participate in the GT identification process by submitting a complete body of evidence. Find more detailed information regarding the GT recommendation process in the Five Star District.

If you are interested in having your child be considered for the GT identification process you need to contact your GT Coordinator for school specific information.

Important dates for the GT Recommendation process at our school:

Silver Creek's GT Testing will occur March 15-16, 2021.

(*****Please note: ALL testing MUST be finished prior to leaving for spring break, so if your child misses it due to family vacations, we will have to wait until the following year to test.)

Parent/Staff/Student GT Recommendation: If you are interested in having your child be considered for the GT identification process you need to complete the form using the link by February 4, 2021.

  • Students who participated in the universal screener are not required to do this.
  • **GT Testing takes place in-person. If the student is engaged in remote learning, they will still need to attend in-person for the testing session.
  • Link to request that your child be considered for the GT identification process:  Please click here and fill out before February 4th.

  • Once you have completed the link, it will take approximately 1 week after the due date for you to receive notice from AAGS requesting permission. You can find more detailed information regarding the GT recommendation process in the Five Star District at the AAGS website.
