English Language Development
NEW ANNOUNCEMENT 4/27/2020
It is hard to believe that this is my 33rd year teaching; this career has been one of passion, and a way that I have identified "who" I am for so many years. I have seen many changes in the field of education since 1986, but one consistency has always been the support and dedication of families and coworkers to strive to do what is best for our young learners. With that being said, I finally made my decision, and am announcing my retirement! I will retire at the end of this school year. This life changing event is exciting and a little scary, but my husband and I have many adventures awaiting us.
Your children have made such a positive impact on my life, and I will miss them. Take care.
April 1, 2020
This is Donna Headrick, your child's English Language Development teacher (ELD). I hope that you and your family are doing well. We want all of our families to be safe at home, and want to support our students with continung to learn from home. Your child's classroom teacher has different learning lessons, activities, and resources available for your child. I am also placing lessons/activities which support the current ELD unit of study on my Google ELD Classroom pages. For 1st Grade, I am sharing activities with their classroom teachers, and they are posting those activities on their classroom learning sites. For Grade Levels 2-5 , they each have a Google Classroom ELD page to use during remote learning. This is a new experience for most of us regarding teaching and learning online, but your child's classroom teacher and I are striving to keep your child engaged in learning online, while keeping in mind your daily commitments as a parent.
